About this work

Description

Who Was Who is a series of volumes composed of entries removed from Who's Who on account of death, each with the date of death added and, where necessary, given a final revision. The successive volumes of Who Was Who have proved to be a necessity for researchers in social and political history, giving, as they do, easy access to a unique series of of over 100,000 biographies which starts in 1897. The subjects range from major figures who shaped the events of their time as well as providing a record of those who were considered the influential and leading figures of their day but who may be less familiar to modern audiences. Additions are made to Who Was Who in KnowUK annually, which means KnowUK contains the most current version of Who Was Who available.
