Description
Collection of medical receipts, etc.: in Italian, by several hands. (Incomplete.) The first 5 leaves deal with remedies for toothache: these are followed by notes on poisons and antidotes (3 ll.), worm-diseases (2 ll.), virtues of herbs (5 ll.), miscellaneous prescriptions including eye diseases, baths, etc. There are several charms and incantations. On the verso of the first leaf is a note dealing with a money payment dated 1537, but the script is considerably later than that of the text. The water-mark-a basilisc holding a flag-is entered as No. 2717 in Briquet and dated 1395.
