About this work
Description
This entertaining drama begins when Tom's pet dog suddenly starts talking to him. The dog, Dudley, voiced by the actor Martin Clunes, suggests that Tom should stop taking his medication and also that his girlfriend, Kelly, is having an affair. Through the course of a few hours, Tom's sanity is tested. We understand that he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and the film imaginatively illustrates the lived-experience of this condition. The absurdity of the situation makes his situation more poignant; in the end he takes his medicine.
