About this work
Description
This engaging drama is set in a large, fictional residential care home aptly named 'Hollybush Manor'. The events of the film take place over the course of one day as Arthur, played by John Hurt, meets Ruth, played by Phyllida Law, seemingly for the first time. They have a whirlwind romance. However, the next day dawns and the same events unerryingly re-occur: it becomes clear that this romance is in fact a tragedy; Ruth is Arthur's life-time partner but he has dementia and has no memory of their relationship.
