Description

The mother lies on a hospital bed with the child beside her. A nurse stands next to the bed with a mobile piece of equipment. A ceiling light casts a broad beam downwards. The floor is light blue with coloured lines, representing in approximately actual size a type of linoleum-pattern popular at the time. The human figures are reduced to coloured triangles and circles
