Description

Minerva and Father Time decide on the destination of oval commemorative plaques containing portraits in relief of eight Dutch painters. Winged genii present the plaque of Adriaen van der Werff to Time, who indicates that they should fly and carry it into a temple of Dutch art, left. Minerva is about to submit to Time the plaque of Paulus Potter. Next are three plaques lying on the ground, commemorating Adrien van de Velde, Phillips Wouwerman and Jacob Ruisdael. Lower left, plaques to Gerard Dou, Rembrandt van Rijn, and [Willem?] van de Velde are being uncovered
