About this work

Description

Ana de Lobera Torres, known as Ana de Jesús, kneels before an altar on which stands a reliquary. Rays emerging from the reliquary strike a burning heart held by her. From her mouth come the words "Accipe cor meum, et confige illud iaculo amoris tui, ut dicat tibi anima mea : charitate tua vulnerata sum." (Receive my heart and pierce it with the dart of your love, so that my soul may say to you: By your charity I am wounded)
